Proust pour tous: une beauté cachée; a hidden beauty

En faisant la queue pour voir l'exposition de Claude Monet au Grand Palais, j'ai eu le loisir de remarquer les statues placées sur le toit de l'édifice, et me dis que toutes ces beautés, en partie cachées, ne devaient pas souvent être vues.

While in line, waiting for the Claude Monet exhibition at the Grand Palais, I had the leasure to look at some statues located on the top of the building's roof, and I noticed that all these elevated beauties must have been rarely admired.

En effet, croisant sa jupe de crêpe de chine gris, sa jaquette de cheviotte grise laissait croire qu'Albertine était tout en gris. Mais me faisant signe de l'aider parce que ses manches bouffantes avaient besoin d'être aplaties ou relevées pour entrer ou retirer sa jaquette, elle ôta celle-ci, et comme ces manches étaient d'un écossais très doux, rose, bleu pâle, verdâtre, gorge-de-pigeon, ce fut comme si dans un ciel gris s'était formé un arc-en-ciel.
